Soft-Stop Sliding Shower Door Systems
Soft-stop sliding shower door systems use a damping mechanism to reduce the speed of the glass door near the end of its travel. This provides a smoother closing movement and helps reduce the impact that can occur when a sliding door reaches its stop.
Depending on the system, the soft-stop mechanism may be integrated with the track, roller assembly or another part of the sliding hardware. Door dimensions, glass weight and installation requirements should therefore be checked against the individual system specification.
Integrated Sliding Hardware
A soft-stop system needs to work together with the track, rollers, guides and door configuration. The damping component should not be treated as a universal accessory that can automatically be added to every sliding door system.
For conventional sliding systems without this function, see our Sliding Shower Door Kits range.
Choosing the Correct System
Before selecting a soft-stop system, confirm the glass thickness, door dimensions and weight, track length, opening direction and available travel distance.
If a model also provides an automatic pull-in or soft-closing function, this should be confirmed from that individual product specification rather than assumed across the complete range.
